Fashion designer, Laura Basevi, has been designing clothing from antique textiles for nearly two decades. Before starting her own label Laura designed for the ‘One Vintage’ brand who’s iconic shop in Notting Hill was first stop to many of the fashion glitterati in London at that time. The years spent working so close to Portobello market only deepened Laura’s obsession for vintage treasures.

Her passion for design and beautiful fabrics is matched with a desire to be ethical and sustainable, repurposing textiles and saving them from landfill. Laura also runs local workshops within her community to encourage individuals to repair and upcycle their clothes rather than buy new.

From her Dorset studio, Laura  carefully constructs each garment individually by hand  with expertise, love and care. Bringing items back to life, reinventing them to emphasise the beauty of the vintage textiles. As an antique lace tablecloth becomes a beautifully cut dress you can be immersed in nostalgia to ponder its previous journey and the stories it holds.
